Tell Us Where Your Child Goes to Middle School
For several years now David has been meeting with various members of the Department of Education and the Bloomberg administration regarding the desperate need for a middle school in downtown Brooklyn. So far, the Department of Education has refused to act.
Last September David formed a middle school task force consisting of PS 8 parents and civic leaders to help build community support for a middle school and to explore possible locations. One way we’d like to build our case is by illustrating just how far away our middle school children currently have to travel. If you are a resident of Dumbo or Brooklyn Heights and have a child in middle school, can you tell us where he/she is going? (This includes private schools.) This information will help us as we continue to build the case that a middle school in Downtown Brooklyn is not an option, it’s an absolute necessity.
